Chorus Manager
Sacred & Profane Chamber Chorus is seeking a Chorus Manager on an ongoing basis. This independent contract position involves overseeing the administrative needs of Sacred & Profane. The Chorus Manager is expected to work an average of 5 hours per week (up to 10 hours some weeks, far fewer in others), approximately 45 weeks per year. Candidates who do not possess expertise in all areas outlined below are encouraged to apply.
Job Duties:
Administration
Secure contracts for rehearsal and concert venues
Attend and present reports at Sacred & Profane board meetings
Maintain and organize the Google Drive and hard drives
Social Media & Publicity
Collaborate with the Artistic Executive Director (AED) and Board to create a social media strategy and marketing plan
Update chorus website
Promote auditions, concerts, and other chorus activities via appropriate channels, including social media, mass email, postcard mailings, online event listings, and choral forums
Submit press releases and requests for interview to news/radio stations
Oversee concert mailings with AED
Development
Devise annual development campaign with AED and Board and execute strategies
Process donations in donor database and send acknowledgement letters
Assist with grant applications and administration
Concerts
Configure online pre-concert ticket sales
Format the concert program and create donor list
Manage all front-of house aspects for concerts, including volunteer recruitment and management, will-call lists, signage, on-site ticket sales, and record-keeping for sales and attendance
Required Qualifications:
Experience in performing many of the duties described above
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in choral music and/or nonprofit arts administration
Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, Mailchimp, Stripe, Airtable, Adobe Indesign, Squarespace, Chorus Connection
Compensation:
The Chorus Manager position is paid on a monthly basis. Set compensation will be commensurate with distribution of duties and at approximately $35/hr, with annual raises. This is a part-time position that does not provide benefits.
